At the end of the year, my heart, which had been dormant for a winter, was already restless and agitated by the longing of the camera. The winter in Datong has always been dull, lacking in layers of light and shadow, and lacking in natural charm. Moreover, this winter only saw a thin snowfall, and the grass cover melted away without a trace. For two whole months, I kept my camera and hardly ever went out.
This time, I finally got the opportunity to take pictures of the pavilion on Pailou Mountain. I have calculated repeatedly on the map, and the trajectory of the sunrise happens to be hanging above the top of the pavilion. The scene is enough to be moving just by imagination. The parking spot has already been cleared in advance. Last time I took a blood moon photo, I specifically stepped on it, cleared obstacles, and prepared everything properly.
Everything is ready, but the first time I went, I still missed it. I woke up at 4 o'clock in the morning, the night was still dark, and the cold wind poured into my collar. I drove for an hour to get to the foot of the mountain, panting heavily and setting up my equipment. At the moment when the sun rose, I missed the expected location. Careful planning ultimately fell short, looking at the empty morning light, my heart was filled with regret.
I am unwilling to accept it. The next day, I still woke up at four o'clock and headed to the same mountain. The night is still deep, the mountain road is still quiet, and I follow the familiar path straight to the prepared parking spot. The tripod was steadily supported, and the camera was aimed at the tip of the pavilion. A faint light gradually appeared on the horizon, a little golden red, and slowly climbed up.
When the morning sun hovers over the top of the pavilion and the rosy glow spreads over the eaves, at that moment, all the fatigue of waking up early, the coolness of driving, and the disappointment of yesterday disappear into thin air. The shutter beeps lightly, capturing the image that is on your mind.
Haha, some scenery will definitely not disappoint those who persistently go there.
